The Aces opened the game on a 13-2 run and never looked back in a 66-52 victory at Ridley. All LM players saw action and four reached double figures, including Steve Payne ’19 (16 points), Jack Forrest '19 (11 points), Harrison Klevan '18 (11 points) and Darryl Taylor '19 (10 points).
Klevan was hot to start the game with two treys and seven points in the opening quarter. Isaiah Morgan ’18 brought great energy in his first start of the year, including taking a charge to close out the quarter with LM up 20-5. LM had eight steals in the frame and forced 21 Ridley turnovers in the contest.
The second quarter was analogous to the first, as the Aces extended their advantage to 21 points, going into halftime with a 45-24 lead. Throughout the third the Aces continued to stay hot, with multiple players entering the rotation. Payne had the highlight of the game halfway though the quarter, channelling Rajon Rondo with a dazzling behind the back fake pass on the break which he turned into a scoop layup. Minutes later, ninth grader ShaReef Jones tallied his first varsity bucket with a three-pointer to end the frame. At the end of the quarter, LM was up 60-30 and the Aces turned to their reserves to close out the contest.
Ridley battled in the fourth and knocked down five treys in the period, but it was too little too late as the Aces cruised to the finish.
The win marked the 200th victory with statistician Michael Lachs at the scorer's table.
The Aces have one day off and then face Garnet Valley in a rescheduled game in the Kobe Bryant Gym at 1PM.
